About TA.LE
We design for
what comes next
Make the better use of what already exists.
Our design belief
Design for People,
Place and Possibility
Architecture does more than create beautiful spaces. It creates lasting value: for people, for places, and for the future.
We look beyond the brief to understand how people use, experience and connect with space, and we consider not only how a space performs today but how it holds its relevance, adaptability and value over time.
Good design is not defined by whether a project is new or existing. It is defined by how well it answers its context, how meaningfully it serves people, and how responsibly it is made for the future.
OUR PRACTICE
We combine design creativity with technical rigour and a highly collaborative process to transform existing conditions into purposeful, distinctive and future-ready spaces.
Our work balances design intent, functionality and long-term value — ensuring that every project is both meaningful in experience and responsible in impact.

Our defining position
Conserving as we Construct.
"Conservation, in other words, is not only a question of what we preserve. It is a question of what we are careful enough not to waste."
On existing buildings it means adaptive reuse, precise intervention and circular strategies that extend the life and value of what is already standing.
On new builds it means the same discipline applied forward: structures loose enough to be reinterpreted, material choices that hold their worth, and buildings that will not become someone else's obsolescence.
Founding Partner / Director
Ar. Tay Yanling
Yanling leads the firm's creative vision and design culture. A registered architect in Singapore and the Netherlands with wide experience across commercial, retail, hospitality, workplace, transportation and residential work in Asia, she brings a people-centric approach shaped by a deep interest in how buildings influence behaviour and wellbeing.
Sustainability, biophilic design and circular principles run through her work, integrated rather than added on.
Yanling guides multidisciplinary teams through every stage of the design process, balancing innovation with technical precision and commercial reality. She is an active voice in industry dialogue and mentors the next generation of designers.

Founding Partner / Director
Ar. Lionel Leow
Lionel brings over two decades of experience across commercial, hospitality, retail, workplace, mixed-use, transportation and high-end residential projects throughout Asia.
A registered architect in both Singapore and the Netherlands, he is known for turning complex architectural problems into solutions that are inventive, commercially sound and environmentally responsible — with a particular focus on adaptive reuse and giving existing buildings a second life.
His projects have been recognised nationally and internationally for design, sustainability and innovation. Outside of practice, Lionel mentors young architects and speaks regularly on circular design, adaptive reuse and the future of the built environment.

In 2025, TA.LE Architects opened its Bangkok studio — the practice's first outside Singapore.
The expansion reflects the growing body of work we have undertaken across the region and our belief that good design is grounded in local knowledge: in climate, craft, materials and the way people live.
Working across both cities allows our teams to share expertise while remaining close to the communities and contexts they design for. The Bangkok studio operates with the same multidisciplinary approach as our Singapore practice, spanning architecture, interior design and placemaking.

Bangkok studio address:
63 Athenee Tower, 23rd Floor, Room 35, Wireless Road, Lumpini, Pathumwan, Bangkok Bangkok Thailand 10330
